Terrarium Memoria

Terrarium Memoria is a series of digital terrariums which serve as an exploration of the profound impact our actions have on the environment and the fragility of our natural ecosystems. Drawing inspiration from the unique flora of Arizona, each terrarium encapsulates a digital projection of native trees as they sway in the wind. Deprived of their natural surroundings, these digital tree specimens exist encased in glass, forming an otherworldly and somewhat melancholic portrayal.

The series oscillates between solemnity and inspiration, inviting viewers to navigate a spectrum of emotions and to move beyond passive observation. Each sole tree that inhabits its delicate glass enclosure is also celebrated as if placed on a pedestal and highlighted as a unique species worthy of protection. Viewers are also asked to consider a world in which we only have the mere memory of these species, captured in moving pixels, and no longer are able to experience them in the natural world.

Terrarium Memoria is a somber reflection on the fragility of our ecosystem and a call to action, urging us to cherish and actively preserve the richness of our environment before it becomes a memory confined solely to the digital domain.
